A pawsitively fun day in the Santa Barbara sun!

The 11th annual Wags n' Whiskers Festival had a lot of fun in store for festival-goers, participants and animals alike. Hosted at Santa Barbara City College's beautiful West Campus, the event drew more than 1,600 visitors from all over Santa Barbara County and beyond and inspired forever homes for at least 45 dogs, cats and bunnies, with more adoptions pending in the days and weeks to come.

Since our first Wags n' Whiskers in 2009, it's become the largest pet adoption and animal festival on the Central Coast. Our free, family-friendly festival promotes adoption and highlights the wonderful shelters, rescue groups and local businesses that help homeless animals. It also creates networking opportunities and raises funds for C.A.R.E.4Paws and our critical work to ensure animals don't end up homeless in the first place.

Festival features in 2019:
  • Adoptable dogs, cats, bunnies and birds from 25 animal shelters and rescue groups

  • Vendors sharing new pet products and animal wellness tips

  • Best in Show, our top contest with three different categories

  • A Paws Up For Pets Youth Booth with Farm to You Mobile Petting Zoo, face painting and other special activities

  • Fast-paced dog agility with the Santa Barbara Flyers

  • A demo with Chop, Odin and other dogs from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department
