Mobile clinic record results!

Our mobile clinic team broke all kinds of records this year. We've altered 1,300 dogs and cats, provided veterinary care to 1,070 animals (up from 100 in 2017) and hosted 140 vaccine clinics countywide. The critical services we offer in the mobile clinic, for free or at very low cost, keep pets happy, healthy and with their families for life. The mobile clinic rolls back out on January 5. More pawsitive partnerships

Exciting news: we have expanded our Companion Pet Assistance program significantly. We've partnered with United Way and other agencies to provide more Pet Resource Centers throughout Santa Barbara County, where anyone in need can grab pet food and supplies and sign up for our mobile clinic services. We also offer more Mobile Pet Meals through our mobile clinic and delivery of food. Learn more here!

Great North County Sunday clinics

We hosted a successful $5 rabies vaccine and Pet Wellness Clinic at Guadalupe City Hall on December 8. People came out despite of the rain and we helped as many as 125 dogs and cats with low-cost vaccines, microchips, flea treatment and more. We also provided spays/neuters and medical care in our mobile clinic to another 20 animals. On November 3 in Santa Maria, we assisted 150-plus pets with vaccines and other services. Plus, we put on fun activities all day, like our big Best in Show contest, dog agility, a petting zoo, a demo by the K-9 unit from SBC Sheriff's Department and more. Learn more on our event page

Lending a helping hand

Our goal is always to help those in need, including the homeless. Like Little Bit, who had mammary gland surgery and a dental in the mobile clinic, while her dad Tim got a new bike and wagon to get around. Yoda received treatment for severe skin issues and owner Leo got new bike parts and a doggie wagon for his pups. Boo Boo came close to having an injured leg amputated but now he is healing without it thanks to treatment in the mobile clinic.

Community outreach consulting

C.A.R.E.4Paws' outreach program and affordable, accessible mobile services have made a huge impact on shelter intake numbers and animal welfare in Santa Barbara County. We met with the awesome team at Ventura County Humane Society to share our methods and to start collaborating on outreach in Ventura County neighborhoods in need. So many pawsitive things are going to happen for our two counties going forward!
