We are here to help pet owners through these difficult times! We provide assistance with pet food in our mobile clinic and at family food distribution events, Pet Resource Centers and through Mobile Pet Meals delivery to seniors and others in need. We continue to offer affordable critical veterinary services and our Safe Haven program assists victims of domestic violence by providing  temporary refuge for pets.

A SAFE HAVEN FOR PETS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS

There's NO excuse for abuse. Yet, domestic violence is rampant in our community and affects everyone in a family, including animals. Many victims stay with their abusers because of a pet, or they are forced to leave their beloved companions behind. C.A.R.E.4Paws' new Safe Haven program ensures abuse victims can leave WITH their pets. Victims can seek help at a Domestic Violence Solutions (DVS) emergency shelter or through another partner agency, and C.A.R.E.4Paws will arrange for temporary, anonymous foster homes or boarding until the pet and owner can be reunited. Want to help? Your contribution will save lives!

CRITICAL ASSISTANCE FOR PETS AND THEIR OWNERS

No pet or pet owner in Santa Barbara County should have to go hungry or without critical care. In partnership with several local human welfare agencies, we have increased services available to community members in need by introducing more Pet Resource Centers and Mobile Pet Meals. Pet owners can easily access dog and cat food and other supplies, sign up for services in C.A.R.E.4Paws’ mobile clinic and find out about programs for themselves.

PET EMERGENCY TRAINING FOR FIRST RESPONDERS

We’re excited to have launched Pet Emergency Training (P.E.T.) for First Responders alongside Advanced Veterinary Specialists (AVS) and dog trainer Brian Glen. Our program demonstrates how to safely handle and care for pets in an emergency situation. We launched a series of 12 workshops on February 3 with Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

OUR MOBILE CLINIC IS ON A ROLL AGAIN IN 2020

In 2019, we helped more animals and pet owners in need than ever before. Our Mobile Community Medicine & Spay/Neuter Outreach team performed 1,300 free spay/neuter surgeries, assisted 1,070 dogs and cats with veterinary care and hosted 140 vaccine clinics. We anticipate to surpass those records in 2020 and are already on a roll!
