WAGS N' WHISKERS
Wags n' Whiskers 2014
Our 6th annual Wags n' Whiskers Festival takes place Sunday, August 10, from 11am to 4pm at Girsh Park in Goleta. The event—the largest animal festival in Santa Barbara County—features adoptable dogs, cats and bunnies from about 25 animal shelters and rescue groups and showcases a wide range of local pet service providers and animal welfare groups.

Last year's event drew a record number of visitors and inspired as many as 35 cat and dog adoption from local rescues and shelters. Our activities, including Frisbee dog shows, a police K9 demo, Flyball and a dog training demo with Camp Canine, were a hit, too. Read alll about it in our front-page article in the News-Press.

LEVEL: PAWSITIVE PARTNER ~ $500 (see benefits)

Right from the start, Invisible Fence® Brand solutions were created out of a genuine concern and love for dogs. Back in 1973, Richard Peck, a well-traveled dog lover, grew alarmed at the number of dogs he saw roaming the streets or injured by cars. Knowing that our furry friends need daily exercise to remain healthy, he resolved to find a way to enable pet owners to keep their dogs and cats safe – without constant monitoring by their owners – while still maintaining their freedom. In the nearly 40 years since then, Invisible Fence® Brand has protected more than 2 million pets of just about every size, breed, and temperament.

Santa Barbara's Dermatology & Allergy Clinic for Animals is the office of Jean Greek, DVM, DACVD, the only board certified veterinary dermatologist on the central coast.

SAM's Doggie Dude Ranch is named for the owners' beloved dog, SAM, undefeated champ of the World's Ugliest Dog Contest. Although SAM has gone to Doggie Heaven, his gift to this world lives on. SAM’s Doggie Dude Ranch is set on a 300-acre cattle and horse ranch on the gorgeous Gaviota coast. The ranch has been in the family since 1866 and offers plenty of room for playful romps through pastures, soaks in the water troughs, peaceful walks and chasing squirrels! Boarding packages such as “Bed & Biscuit” includes feedings twice a day and plenty of fun and exercise.
