TOP DOG: COCA

Dear potential adopter,

Are you looking for a new member to add to your family? Well, I might be just the pooch you're looking for! My name is Coca, and I am a female labrador-chow mix. I'm a loving, gentle dog with a positive attitude. I have been an outdoor dog for many years, but now I live at this fantastic place called the Santa Barbara Humane Society. I've been here for a while and I'm ready to find a new home with some great people.

Like many other dogs, I may also have some arthritis in my hips, but that doesn't stop me! I have maintained my friendly, happy-go-lucky personality. Although I am not a youngster at 11 years, you will be impressed by how active I am!

In addition to my basic obedience training with the Humane Society staff behaviorist, I spent a couple of hours a day for an entire month helping a teenage volunteer learn how to train a dog. Because I am such a well-behaved dog, I participated in the 2009 Santa Barbara Independence Day parade and the 2010 Wags ‘n Whiskers Festival.

Although I always try to make the most of each day, what I really want is to spend the rest of my life in a home with my own very special human(s) to love.
