EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH

How we treat the animal companions in our lives is a reflection of what we, as individuals, believe to be true. And however unintentional, public ignorance can lead to heartbreaking truths for dogs, cats and other pets. C.A.R.E.4Paws' mission is to promote responsible animal ownership so that all members of society can make informed decisions that positively affect today's pets and pave the road for our furry friends in the future.

Kids Care
One hour long, our Pawsitive Thinking student workshops reach out to elementary school children and focus on:

*Basic animal care and responsibility
*Breed types, dog behavior and basic training
*How to integrate a dog into the family
*Common cat traits and behaviors
*Pet overpopulation and the life of a shelter dog/cat
*The importance of spaying/neutering
*How kids can make a difference
*Meet and learn about therapy dogs
*Adopting a shelter dog/cat

Are you a teacher or a parent with kids in K-8? Contact us to arrange a presentation at your school!

K9 & Feline Ambassadorships
During our classroom sessions, we encourage students to become ambassadors for dog and cats through various creative projects. As a K9/Feline Ambassador, a student has the opportunity to share with friends and family members his/her knowledge of animal care and responsibility. We also encourage K9/Feline Ambassadors to partake in our adoption events and other programs.

V.I.P. Shelter Tours
Groups of students can apply for a “behind the scenes” tour of a local shelter to learn about shelter life, volunteering, animal care and the important work of an animal control officer.
