Event Details
C.A.R.E.4Paws annual Wags n’ Whiskers Festival is the largest animal event in Santa Barbara County. In 2010, the festival inspired 34 dog and cat adoptions and hosted a record number of shelters and rescue groups (19), pet service providers (25) and visitors (more than 1,000). In 2011, we are looking to boost these numbers even further.
Festival date & time: Sunday August 28 from 11am to 4pm at Girsh Park.

Our first event planning meeting: Thursday March 10 at 5:30pm at Girsh Park (click here for directions); we'll meet by the park club house, which is near the second parking lot on your right as you drive down Phelps Rd.
Committees: Below is a list of the various event committees that we need volunteers and team leads for.
Committee: C4Ps event reps
Duties: to greet groups and vendors, direct them to their specific site, and to help set up (and dismantle) their booths. To walk around and ensuring that groups are doing ok throughout the day and to give volunteers a break if they need one.

Duties: to set up the booth in the morning; man the booth during the day (greeting the public and giving out c4p information); and dismantle booth post-event.

Duties: To meet and greet volunteers and get them signed in and ready for their specific shift or volunteer job.

Duties: to coordinate all the activities throughout the day, including staying on top of the schedule and staying in close contact with the trainers and groups to perform.

Duties: To help organize everything that involves having a stage at the event (where to get, transportation, set-up, disassembly).

Duties: To help organize food vendors (such as the Burger Bus and Cold Stone) to come to the event (with their own permits). Also organize for and set up a C4Ps snack booth.
